An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Senior Credit Risk Manager to join our team based in Solihull. Are you able to demonstrate strong leadership and management capabilities? Purpose of the role

To determine and manage credit risks across the customer life cycle with particular focus on lending to corporate entities. You will have the opportunity to show leadership by providing underwriter guidance and advice, as well as assisting the formulation of credit policy. The role supports the assessment of lending decisions through the 2nd line oversight of underwriter quality assurance.

Duties & responsibilities

  • Supporting the development of appropriate credit risk policies and strategies necessary to manage risk within stated risk appetite levels
  • Developing robust affordability assessment solutions to ensure loans are only offered to customers (both individuals and corporate entities) who can afford repayments
  • Ensuring optimal decisions are successfully applied at customer acquisition and throughout account management
  • Managing the Group’s 2nd line oversight of underwriting quality assurance
  • Providing corporate risk assessment input and advice to underwriters across all business lines
  • Supporting and providing guidance to the Credit Committee on all credit risk related matters
  • Holding and applying a Credit Committee mandate
  • Supporting effective reporting of management information

Skills

  • Have an in-depth understanding of credit risk and credit management techniques across the account life cycle, and across asset classes
  • Be able to demonstrate strong leadership and management capabilities
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Qualifications and experience

Must have at least five years’ credit risk experience with a good understanding of lending to corporate entities. Must also have held a senior level underwriting mandate.

Working hours

37 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 8.30am to 5.00pm (one hour for lunch).

Relevant training will be provided.
