Brief description

Do you have credit monitoring skills? We’re looking for someone with strong analytical skills and the expertise needed to work with our existing landlords to identify bespoke solutions when monitoring our credit exposure. If you have experience and detailed knowledge of the mortgage cycle, we want to hear from you.

Purpose of the role

To complete detailed reviews of buy-to-let exposures to identify strategies by which risk can be effectively monitored. This role involves both desktop based research and analysis, coupled with face to face meetings with borrowers and their professional advisors.

Duties & responsibilities

  • Identify and understand borrower exposure risk, through reviewing and analysing loan portfolios
  • Contact borrowers and / or their authorised agents regarding potential or actual instances of default
  • Effectively communicate with borrowers and their professional advisers, to devise and implement strategies to successfully resolve any issues
  • Be responsible for appropriate collection activity on higher exposure / higher profile loan portfolios
  • Conduct and review asset trace activities and devise effective recovery strategies
  • Identify and recover mortgage shortfall losses suffered by the Group

  • Able to collate, interpret and question partial or conflicting data on which to base decisions
  • Strong analytical skills, sound commercial approach and the ability to apply expertise in cross-functional situations
  • To be able to identify new or bespoke solutions, ensuring they are fully compliant with policy and regulations
  • Have a mature, professional outlook and be able to influence others

Qualifications and experience

You should have detailed knowledge and experience of the whole mortgage life cycle including underwriting and servicing functions. This will include involvement in corporate and individual insolvencies, and the restructuring of debt. An appropriate degree and / or IFS/ACIB (Banking) qualification. Customer relationship experience is also required.

Customer meetings require travel throughout the UK, for which a company pool car is provided. Therefore, a full UK driving license is required.

Working hours

37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 8.30am to 5.00pm (one hour for lunch). A flexible approach to working hours is required.

Training

The successful candidate is required to be able to start working in the role immediately. However, relevant training will be provided to augment existing skills.
