Brief description

Our External Relations department are expanding their in-house Design team! We’re looking for an experienced Graphic Designer with creative solutions for all types of design collateral, who will confidently pitch new ideas and creative concepts to stakeholders across the business. An understanding of animation packages would be a great advantage!

Purpose of the role

To act as an internal graphic design resource for the Paragon Group, producing creative design solutions. Your workload will include the creation of; print ready artwork, PDF for web, business documentation and PowerPoint presentations. You will also be responsible for retaining brand image and maintaining cost efficiencies throughout the design process and production.

Duties & responsibilities

  • Work alongside the Marketing and Communications teams to produce high quality, innovative creative concepts
  • Form part of an internal consultancy service to the Marketing and Communications teams (and wider internal business clients), advising on creative solutions for all types of design collateral, from print to digital
  • Produce new creative collateral within established brand guidelines
  • Make amends to existing documentation / websites / presentations as required, ensuring a high level of accuracy is maintained
  • Act as a quality assurance resource to maintain a high level of accuracy in all work leaving the Design function
  • Support the Digital Design function in ensuring brand consistency between online and offline collateral
  • Effectively manage own daily workload within agreed timescales – communicating effectively with internal stakeholders and the Design Manager should priority clashes occur
  • Confidently pitch new ideas and creative concepts, communicating effectively with stakeholders at all levels across the business
  • Liaise with the Group’s printing house, ensuring printed materials are produced and delivered to agreed timescales / finishes and are of an acceptable quality
  • Ensure adherence to regulatory processes such as sign off and document management

Skills

  • A high level of creativity and a well developed aesthetic sensibility, demonstrated through a portfolio of strong creative work
  • Mac proficient with excellent knowledge of all appropriate design packages such as Adobe Creative Suite (CS6 or later)
  • Microsoft Office skills that include Word and PowerPoint
  • Understanding of animation packages such as Adobe After Effects and Adobe Animate and digital design principles and associated technologies (HTML, CSS etc) desired
  • Ability to deliver high-quality, consistent creative work with accuracy and attention to detail
  • Be able to multi-task and switch focus as required. Organise own workload based upon business priorities, self-manage and prioritise several projects at once, whilst keeping to set deadlines

Qualifications and experience

Grade C or above GCSE (or equivalent) in English and Mathematics and a recognised qualification in Graphic Design or related subject. Two years’ relevant commercial experience required.

Working hours

37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 8.30am to 5.00pm (one hour for lunch).

Training

Relevant training will be provided.
